    Default Re-root canal failure???

I had a re-root canal done without anesthetics because the nerve was already dead and i had no pain at all having it done...after a few hours of having a temporary filling i started having a horrible pain.
my dentist was not available next day so i asked another one to take the filling out cause it was causing me pain.
the dentist agreed after long discussion but didnt like the idea at all. Soon after the filling was out the pain stopped imediately.. I have to mention that there was no pus or sweling -the rooth was clean and it looked good. Next day i had no pain at all and went to my dentist and she decided to close it again because she didnt want any germs from the saliva to get into the gaps. Soon after was closed the burning irritating slow pain started again. So we had to take the other filling out once more-- and imediately after the irritation subsided.
She believes that when its closed it activates some anaerobic microbes...but doesnt understand why the filling is causing pain.
So now i have a root canal open because i cannot tolerate the temp filling....this is not good!
can anyone help me , this has happened before.
Your comments are very much appreciated
    Kind regards
    Pedrocas

    Wink Re-root canal failure???

    Thank you for your post.

I have to tell you that I have not come across a case where repeatedly pain begins as soon as a temporary filling is placed in a root filled tooth. As long as the temporary filling is not high in the bite and the tooth is not cracked, a temporary filling should not cause any pain within a dead tooth. Sounds like this a good case for our root canal specialist friends.

so it started again and again....it seems i am left with a tooth ache now without infection!!!
    my dentist thinks its neuralgia.
I really dont know what to do....it is an acute pain that gets really inflamed but no other signs are present...gabapentine helps but i still feel a bit of somtehing after taking it...it makes me feel nauseous though.
I had a similar problem with an apicoectomy of a front tooth on the same side.
i ended up loosing the tooth. after it came out it didnt hurt anymore. maybe i'll have to consider the same for this one.

this only lasted a couple of days...the pain is back again and she belives it's just neuralgia. dont know what to do anymore.
