When pain arises from a tooth, the tooth may have become infected and require root canal treatment. When we carry out root canal treatment, we first anaesthetize the tooth fully to ensure that the treatment is carried out comfortably.

We then isolate the tooth with a rubber dam to ensure that the field is kept as sterile as possible and new bacteria contamination of the tooth by saliva is avoided.

We use modern flexible titanium rotary files to ensure that the canals are shaped efficiently. We only use our files once, in order to minimize fracture and reduce risk of cross infection.

We use high tech apex locators to establish the length of canals and to reduce the radiographic dose. We thoroughly clean the canals with powerful disinfectants to destroy the bacteria colonies within the tooth.

We then fill the canals with gutta percha root canal filling material to prevent re-infection of the tooth. You may experience some post-operative pain which usually settles down with pain killers.

Our dentists are highly experienced and have carried out hundreds of root canal treatments. Our practice is open 7 days a week with same day late appointments available. Should you be in pain and require urgent dental care, Our 24 Hour Emergency service can even provide you with root canal treatment anytime 24 hours of the day, 365 days a year.

Cost of treatment

We will always provide you with a full written treatment plan so that you are fully aware of the costs involved with your root canal treatment before we begin any treatment. We have published our fees on our web site, so that there are no hidden costs.

Private Dental Insurance

Here at Pearl Dental Clinic, we welcome patients for root canal treatment who have dental insurance cover from any of the major insurance providers such as CIGNA, Simply Health, AXA, BUPA and DENCOVER. If you have private dental insurance you will be provided with the necessary documentation after the treatment to enable you to make a claim from your insurance provider.

We provide 0% Finance on most treatments allowing you to spread the cost of treatment over a period that suits you. Finance can be arranged within a few hours even on weekends by sending the completed application form to dental finance.
