Arrow Can my tooth be saved?

    Hello

I have a front tooth which was involved in an accident a couple years ago and has since developed an infection inside it and has discoloured. My dentist recommended that I have the tooth removed and have a denture made to replace the tooth removed.

However I don't like the idea of having a denture that covers the root of my mouth and reading this forum, I was wondering if root canal treatment could be used to save my tooth?

If root canal could save the tooth, I would much rather keep the tooth than have a plastic denture, however can anything be done to make the tooth whiter as well because the tooth has become quite dark now.

Wink Can my tooth be saved?

    Thank you for your question.

Without seeing your tooth its difficult for me to say if your tooth can be saved or not. At pearl dental clinic, we try to save as many teeth as we can but there are occasions where the tooth is just cant be saved and then extraction is indicated.

However we do provide patients who have tooth extractions, with the option of implants and bridges as well as dentures and most people in my experience seem to go for implants and a few for bridges and a tiny minority opt for dentures.
