    Smile Alternatives to braces

    Hi

I have one crooked tooth which I would like to straighten and bring into line like my other teeth. I have spoken to an orthodontist who suggests metal braces to bring this tooth more in line with the rest of my front teeth.

He also suggested an alternative to braces of having removable appliance but he did not discuss the option of invisalign. Is invisalign able to straighten a crooked tooth? The fact that is nearly invisible, really attracts me to invisalign more than the other two but I am just not sure if it would work.

Apart from the options mentioned, do I have any other orthodontic options for straightening my tooth? Roughly how much would the Invisalign option cost to have done. How long does it take for the Invisalign treatment to end?

    Smile Alternatives to braces

    Hello Niyaz,

    Thank you for your post.

Invisalign is suitable for treating most cases including crooked teeth. To confirm this we would need to see you for an assessment and we offer free invisalign consultations.

Orthondontic options for straightening teeth are broadly divided into fixed and removable appliances. Removable appliances include clear aligners like invisalign or patented appliances like inman aligner which uses metal springs and bars. Fixed appliances include metal brackets and wires or aesthetic ceramic brackets. Lingual braces are also a good option as very discreet but not possible in some cases. The final class of appliances are functional appliances and are useful during the rapid growth of early teenage

Invisalign costs from £1450 at Pearl and the cost depends on the severity of the case. The average invisalign case takes 1 year to complete but this can vary greatly depending on the severity of the case.
