    Exclamation Wire braces

    Hello

I saw an orthodontist about three months ago, who recommended wire braces to straighten my crooked teeth. I thought that this was the only option available for straightening my teeth and accepted the plan and began treatment.

Now looking on the net, I have found that there is also the option of Invisalign which could straighten my teeth without wire braces showing on my teeth when I smile. I am 33 years old and work in a shop, so not having things that show on my teeth would be a plus.

I originally though that wire braces are my only option, now that Invisalign is available, I would like to know if its possible to have the wire brace from my teeth removed in the middle of treatment and switch to Invisalign for the rest of my treatment?

    Default Wire braces

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

Yes you can remove the braces and start your treatment with Invisalign. BUT before you do this you must be seen and assessed to see if you are suitable for treatment with the invisible braces. Although almost every mouth can be treated with Invisalign, but there are some situations that can not be or the result is not as predictable with invisible brace as one would like to be, so it may be better in these cases to have the braces. What suggest is to come and se us for assessment and then we would be able to tell you more about your situation.

    Question Wire braces

    Dear Penny,

    Thank you for your post.

You can stop the fixed brace treatment but before this, your suitability for invisalign needs to be assessed. A consultation will determine if you are suitable for invisalign. Invisalign consultation are available on mondays, thursdays, fridays and sundays and can be booked by calling us on 0208 547 9997.

Secondly you should see your orthodontist and discuss this when them. They should remove the fixed braces and any residual cement on your teeth if you decide to stop this treatment.

You should also consider the cost of changing braces to invisalign. Invisalign costs from £1450 at Pearl Dental Clinic.

We would be happy to see you and discuss your treatment options further. Please bring the contact details of your orthodontist as we would need to liase with them.
