Wink My braces elastic bands have become loose

    Hi

I wear braces which were fitted a few months ago and they have elastic bands on them and yesterday two of these elastic bands became loose. My orthodontist is on holiday until next week and I cant see him until then. I am worried that I might swallow these loose elastic bands or that my treatment will be compromised. Could you tell me what I need to do to reattach these elastic bands to my braces or if I need to see the emergency dentist.

    Thank you for your question.

If you cant go back to the orthodontist treating your case, its best to see an emergency dentist so that he can reattach any loose elastic bands. You will still need to go back to see your orthodontist as soon as he comes back for a review of your elastic bands.
