    Talking Suitable for invisalign?

    Hi

I have crowded top and bottom teeth which are difficult to clean and I have been thinking about getting them straightened for a while now. Recently I saw my dentist regarding getting my teeth straightened and he recommended the Invisalign treatment as I dont want to have train track braces on my teeth.

However he says that he does not do Invisalign himself and would have to refer me to another practice. I have been doing a bit of research and it seems that Invisalign usually involves straightening teeth without tooth extractions.

My concern is that I dont wish to have any teeth removed and it seems that metal braces usually involve teeth extractions. Can you tell me if my case would be suitable for invisalign? Would I need to have any teeth removed?

    Smile Suitable for invisalign?

    Hello Maegan,

    Thank you for your post.

Invisalign can treat mild and moderately crowded teeth well. More severely crowded teeth will need tooth extractions before teeth straightening and are best treated with traditional braces like train tracks. Following a consultation we can confirm if you are suitable for invisalign. Invisalign consultations are free at Pearl and available on most days of the week.

Very rarely do we do tooth extractions for invisalign and these cases are treated better with fixed braces. Metal braces do not necessarily involve teeth extractions. If you need teeth removed we will advise you to see the orthodontist for assessment.
