Could Invisalign fix my overbite created by thumb sucking?

Hi

When I was a child I used to suck my thumb and for a long time my parents tried very hard to stop me from sucking my thumb but I carried on for a long time after I should have stopped.

Now there is a space between my teeth at the front in the place where I used to place my thumb between my teeth and the overbite created really irritates me and I would like it corrected but if possible without metal braces.

I would like to know if Invisalign could correct overbites created by thumb sucking and if so, how long does the treatment take?

Thumb sucking is a habit which can create a space between the front teeth. This space is know as an openbite. Generally invisalign can treat most cases and it will depend on the severity of the openbite. Following an assessment we can confirm if your case can be treated with invisalign or if its better to have fixed braces. If your front teeth are sticking out it is possible to push them back and this will reduce or correct the openbite.

The average invisalign case takes 1 year to complete, but some cases can be completed in half this time and if the openbite is not very severe it can be treated in 6-12 months. The invisalign video will show you the treatment results and the treatment length approximately. It is £325 to have the invisalign video and is part of the total treatment cost.

After the invisalign treatment you will need bonded retainers to prevent relapse of the openbite.
