Will my Invisalign impressions be done by dentists or nurses?

Hi

I am considering getting Invisalign braces to correct my crowded teeth and I am looking at different practices, to see where I should have my treatment carried out.

I would like the Invisalign impressions to be carried out by qualified dentists and not nurses, because I would like my impressions to be perfect and not need to be repeated.

I find it very hard to tolerate impressions in my mouth as they make me gag and so I would like as few impressions taken as possible and also I would like my treatment to be done as fast as possible without the need for me to come back to the clinic to repeat impressions.

Could you tell me if your experienced dentists take the Invisalign impressions at your clinic or if its done by nurses?

At Pearl all stages of the invisalign process and treatment will be carried out by experienced invisalign dentists. Invisalign impressions are always taken by the invisalign dentist. Our nurses are experienced with invisalign and they play an important support role.

Impressions for invisalign braces need to be very accurate as the complete treatment is planned initially from 1 set of PVS impressions. Any inaccuracies will be carried forward to the end of the treatment. At Pearl we use very accurate and stable materials for invisalign impressions. Invisalign use highly advanced technology and they CT scan the impressions we send which is then computerised.

Refinement invisalign treatment is necessary in 20-30% of cases and the impressions are taken by the invisalign dentist. This ensures repeat impressions are minimised which means your treatment will be more comfortable. If you have a very strong gag reflex we can take the impressions under IV sedation.
