Smile Is my Invisalign treatment going to be monitored every 6 weeks?

    Hi

I have been to two Invisalign consultations and got quotes for my Invisalign treatment. One Invisalign clinic is offering to see me every 6 weeks to monitor my teeth and manage my treatment and the other clinic is saying that they only need to see me once every 12 weeks for new aligners.

According to Invisalign, they recommend that the Invisalign treatment is monitored by the Invisalign dentist once every 6 weeks and that makes sense to me because I would like any problems with the treatment picked up early and rectified.

Could you tell me what is your review policy for your Invisalign patients? Do you see your Invisalign patients every 6 weeks or every 12 weeks at Pearl Dental Clinic?

Smile Is my Invisalign treatment going to be monitored every 6 weeks?

    Hello Ali,

    Thank you for your post.

It is advised by invisalign that the invisalign dentist reviews their patient once every 6 weeks. At Pearl our policy is to do an invisalign review once every 4-6 weeks. This is to check the teeth are moving as predicted in the invisalign clincheck video and to ensure the contacts between teeth are not too tight to stop movements.

If you are seen every 4 weeks, two sets of invisalign aligners are provided. If you are seen every 6 weeks, three sets of aligners will be provided.

In my experience it is better to have invisalign reviews every 4 weeks and this ensures the smooth progress of the invisalign treatment. Ofcourse if you are not available to come every month then every 6 weeks will be fine. We certainly will not offer appointments every 12 weeks as the invisalign treatment does not work in this way.
