    Wink Adult braces

    Hello

I am twenty seven years old and suffer from low self esteem partly due to my teeth being crowded and an embarrassment to me in social situations. I would like to have a set of adult braces to straighten my teeth. I would like to avoid having any metal braces because I think they would make my teeth look even worst whilst they are on my teeth.

I have read about Invisalign and have heard that many adults have Invisalign clear braces to straighten they teeth. How does Invisalign adult braces differ from the metal braces? Would I need to wear the Invisalign braces all the time or do they come off at some point during the day?

Should I decide to have the braces treatment done, how long does it usually take from start to finish?

    Smile Adult braces

    Hello Daisy,

    Thank you for your post.

I am sorry to hear you have low self esteem and this is partly due to your smile, the good news is this can be corrected and you will be smiling soon. The average invisalign case takes 1 year so from start to finish your treatment will take approximately 14 months.

Invisalign braces differ from metal braces in many ways. Invisalign braces are clear plastic aligners and nearly invisible, whereas traditional metal braces are brackets (metal or ceramic) and a metal wire which show.

Invisalign braces are removable and should be worn for at least 22 hours/day and removed for eating/drinking and cleaning the teeth. Metal braces are fixed to the teeth and you can't remove them, so there are eating restrictions and cleaning teeth is more difficult.

Invisalign braces are comfortable, sometimes people experience tooth soreness for a few hours/days whereas metal braces can be uncomfortable due to the wires and brackets that can irritate the mouth.

Invisalign braces are ideal for treating mild and moderately severe cases whereas metal braces can treat severe cases as well. From this point of view metal braces can treat more cases. We can offer a free invisalign consultation at Pearl Dental Clinic to see which type of brace is most suitable.
