Red face What's the best way to clean my invisalign aligners?

    Hi

I have recently started invisalign treatment at Pearl Dental Clinic. I am now wearing my first Invisalign aligners and want to know what's the best way to clean my invisalign aligners?

Cool What's the best way to clean my invisalign aligners?

    Hello Kia,

Thank you for your post. We advise our patients to clean their aligners with water and a clean toothbrush without toothpaste. Toothpastes have abrasives in them and will scratch the surfaces of the aligners. This will make the aligner look less clear and also creates small traps for bacteria.
Simply brush your Invisalign Aligner after every meal just as you would your teeth. Minimum you need to brush your Aligners at least every night before bed and every morning when you wake up.

DO NOT use denture cleaners to clean Invisalign aligners or soak them in mouthwash. These products can damage the surface of the plastic, causing it to become dull and more visible.

Invisalign recommends aligner cleaning crystals but these can be quite costly and are not always available.

Finally, there are personal-sized ultrasonic cleaners available. These devices cause very fine vibrations and waves to loosen and remove any material stuck to your aligners.
