Protruded lower jaw

Hello

I would like some advise regarding my lower teeth. My lower teeth have always been very forward and this has always really irritated me. At school I used to be bullied for having a lower jaw that was really too forward and now as an adult, its psychologically hard for me to accept the position of my lower teeth and jaw.

Could you tell me if Invisalign treatment could fix my problem.

I am sorry to hear that you have had a hard life coping with your jaw position and teeth. From what you have specified, in the field of orthodontics your condition is classified as Skeletal Class 3 Malocclusion. This simply means that due to the discrepancies of the rate of growth of your top jaw and bottom jaw, one has grown more than the other.

In most cases, the position of the teeth relative to each other can be fixed by means of orthodontic treatment which in some cases can even include Invisalign treatment. Sometimes if the malocclusion is too severe and simply can not be fixed by orthodontic treatment alone it may need additional surgery to reposition the jaws.

In more simpler cases, the position of the teeth may be fixed by Invisalign. To be able to tell you if this is possible or not, you will need to be clinically assessed.
