Default My teeth are too crowded and I need teeth extractions

    Hello

I am twnety three years old and have been told by my dentist that due to my small lower jaw size, my teeth have become crowded and the only way to solve the problem would be to have teeth removed and have train track braces. I would like to have this problem sorted out because I dont like the way my teeth look when I smile or see my smile on photos. Is there a way to have teeth straightened without removing teeth? I dont wish to lose healthy teeth if they can be kept and some alternative way can be found to straighten my teeth. I am also very scared of teeth extractions and if I need to have any removed, I would have to have sedation or be knocked out fully. please advise if Invisalign can straighten my teeth without teeth extractions.

    Thank you for your post.

Invisalign does not usually need teeth extractions to straighten teeth. Invisalign creates space by expansion and Inter-proximal tooth shaving which is painless and creates the space needed for straightening most cases. Inter-proximal tooth shaving involves removing very small amounts of enamel (between 0.1mm and 0.5mm) from contacts between teeth to create space. Because these amounts of tooth shaving are very small, no local anaesthetic injections are necessary.
