Drinking with Invisalign braces

Hi

I had Invisalign braces fitted last week and the dentist mentioned that I must not wear my invisalign braces when I am eating and cleaning my teeth. I was wondering if its ok to wear the Invislign trays when I am drinking water. I usually try to drink water throughout the day and dont want to keep taking the trays off. Is it possible to wear the Invisalign aligners whilst I am drinking water.

Hi Amelia,

Yes it is fine to drink water whilst wearing invisalign aligners. Hot drinks should not be consumed as it will deform the clear plastic aligners and damage them irreversibly. Beverages can be consumed with a straw.
Invisalign clear aligners are designed to be worn 20-22hours/day and should not be worn during eating and cleaning the teeth.
