Can I get braces after a dental implant?

I have had a dental implant fitted in the back of my jaw about four moths ago and its due to have its cap fitted next month. My front teeth are very crooked and I would like to get them straightened with braces, but I do not know if it is possible to have braces fitted after a dental implant is placed? Could the brace cause any damage to the dental implant? Can the braces move the dental implant as well or just my own natural teeth?

You can have brace treatment after you have a dental implant fitted. However braces cant move dental implants because dental implants fully integrate with bone and have no periodontal ligament like teeth and so implants can not be move with braces.

It could be that the brace treatment you wish to have simply works on moving the front teeth and it can use the implant at the back for anchorage but the braces cant move the implant if thats your wish.
