Loose dentures

I have had my set of dentures for 5 years now. Previously they have been fine but recently however they are becoming loose dentures. I often feel embarrassed in public as my dentures move on eating and speaking.

I’m 50 and don’t have any teeth. I have been wearing dentures for 10 years now. Why have they become loose? What do you suggest i do? Should i buy the denture adhesives that are in the shops, or do i need to get my self to the dentist and get a new pair made?

I would suggest that you see your dentist for an assessment of your jaws and dentures. As time goes on, the jaw bone can resorb and this will obviously make the denture fit around the jaws poor.

If the dentures are ill fitting, they may need a remake or reline. Using denture adhesive can be messy and you may wish to avoid that by having a new set of dentures made.
