retained milk tooth

Dear dentists

My little 7 year old girl has her adult incisor tooth coming through. But im concerned because her baby tooth is still in place.

Is it normal to have a retained milk tooth in this way? Do we need to get her baby tooth removed or will it drop out itself.

Thank you for your post. At the age of seven its possible to have baby teeth still hanging on and adult teeth coming through behind them.

The baby tooth eventually drops off as the adult tooth fully comes through. If the baby tooth is still hanging on after the adult tooth is fully through, it can be easily removed by your daughters dentist.
