Is a metal denture better than a plastic denture?

Hello

Iv recently been to see the dentist and he told me that i need to have some teeth extracted due to gum disease. I will end up with some gaps for which he recommended a denture.

The dentist said a plastic denture is better for me but my brother who has had plastic denture in the past, says metal dentures are more comfortable.

Can you let me know how i got the gum disease? Do i really need to lose teeth? Do i have to have dentures? Also in your opinion do you think plastic denture or metal denture. Im a 58 year old chauffeur.

If you do suffer from gum disease, I recommend booking a consultation with our periodontist so that she can assess your teeth and tell you which teeth can be saved and which ones cant be saved.

On the whole, metal dentures cover less of the palate and are less bulkier than plastic dentures but its more difficult to add teeth to a metal denture than a plastic denture.

For optimum gum health, dentures need to be designed in a way to minimize plaque buildup around your gums.
