My tooth root has split, what should I do?

I am 22 years old student and last week whilst chewing a sandwich my front tooth started to hurt. I saw my dentist today and he says that the root has split and recommended the root to be extracted.

I wish to get a second opinion to see if my tooth should be removed or not. Assuming that the tooth needs to be removed, what are my tooth replacement options?

Would I be left without a tooth for any period of time? Because this is my front tooth, I would like to have a tooth at all times and not walk around with a gap. Please help.

If your root has split and needs to be extracted, broadly speaking you could have a denture, a bridge or an implant to replace the gap once the tooth is removed.

If you decide to go down the implant root, you will have a temporary denture whilst your implant is healing and so you will not be left with a gap. Your tooth root will need to be seen clinically to assess if it can be saved or not.
