How can I stop my jaw making jaw clicking noises?

Hi

Recently my jaws click when I am eating food, at first they used to click occasionally but now they click much more frequently and sometimes very loudly.

My jaws seem to start aching after a while, if I open my jaws very wide to eat harder foods and I find that the jaw clicking also gets worst with harder bits of food.

Is there anything that can be done with a clicking jaw? Is this something serious or something that is common? Can a clicking jaw cause any damage to my teeth?

Jaw clicking as long as its not caused by jaw pathology is by itself benign. However you will need to have your jaws assessed to make sure that there is no pathology associated with this. If jaw pathology exists, then it may need to be treated.

If clinical and radiographical tests for pathology prove negative, then you may need to accept the jaw clicking as something that you have to live with.
