Exclamation My wisdom teeth are moving my other teeth

    Hello

I am 21 years old and for the over last few months, I have noticed that my bottom teeth at the front are beginning to shift and become over-crowded. At the same time the gum at the back of my jaw shows that my wisdom teeth are possibly pushing my other teeth forward.

I have a lot of brace treatment when I was 13 years old to get all of my teeth into a straight position and now very quickly it seems these wisdom teeth are moving them into a crowded position.

Do you recommend that I have my wisdom teeth removed before they have done any more damage to my teeth? Is there anything that can be done to straighten my teeth again. I don't wish to go through brace treatment again and I am worried that at this rate, my other teeth are going to need braces again to straight them.

Default My wisdom teeth are moving my other teeth

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

There is a good body of evidence that wisdom teeth can push the teeth and create crowding and many orthodontist suggest the extraction of wisdom teeth before starting the treatment if they suspect that eruption of the wisdom teeth can affect the outcome of the ortho treatment.

the alternative treatment to metal braces that we can offer you at pearl dental clinic is the use of invisalign aligners. These aligners are made from clear plastics and used almost 22 hours every day. they are removable and almost no visible and not noticeable. It appears this system is the ideal solution for the correction of your teeth after the extraction of your wisdom teeth which can be done in house by members of our team.
