Ugly metal fillings

I have five metal fillings in my mouth that were done many years ago when my cleaning and oral hygiene was not very good. Now that my oral hygiene is a lot better, I have decided to have these ugly metal fillings replaced with white fillings.

Looking at your site, you offer white fillings but also white inlays for replacing silver fillings. What is the difference between the two? Do they both last the same length of time? What is the procedure for getting these ugly amalgam fillings removed and replaced with cosmetic fillings?

Is the procedure painful? Could I have the wand painless injection system for my dental work? How long does replacing each filling usually take?

Silver fillings can be either changed to white fillings in one visit or changed to gold/porcelain/composite inlays over two visits.

Inlays are made in the lab and are cemented by us into the cavity with dental cement on a separate visit. Inlays don't have the shrinkage problem that white fillings have and so generally speaking inlays have fewer sensitivity problems compared to white fillings.

Fillings and inlays on average last around 5-10 years. Their longevity depends on how well they are maintained by the patient and how well they are made.

We can use the Wand painless injection system for replacing your fillings. If you wish to have your silver fillings changed to white fillings, it takes around 30-45 minutes for each white filling or 1 hour-1.30 hour for each inlay.
