    Exclamation Cerec crown

    Hi

I had a cerec crown done last year on one of my upper middle teeth. At the beginning I was not very happy with the colour of the crown, it looked lighter than my other teeth and somehow unnatural looking but gradually I accepted that.

Then earlier today, whilst I was eating toast, the cerec crown fractured and half of the crown or maybe part of my tooth as well came out and is now left a sharp remaining bit of the crown behind in my mouth.

I have not had a good experience with this crown, I did not think that cerec crowns broke so easily and now I am left needing a new crown. What type of dental crown do you recommend that would be stronger than the current crown and more natural looking?

    Default Cerec crown

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

I am surprised to hear that your Cerec crown has fractured, although all crowns can fracture.
Th type of crowns we can provide you changes from porcelain bonded crowns on semi-precious to precious and all ceramic crowns such as Cercon, Lava and Procera crowns. All these crowns have a very strong cores be it metal or ceramic but then porcelain on top of it. The strength of the crown is as much as the porcelain. One has to also notice that there might have been a underlying cause for the fracture of the crown like grinding of the teeth and this need to be investigated and examined for.
