Baby teeth

Hi

My six year old daughter still has all of her baby teeth and has not lost any of her baby teeth yet. Some of the other children her age, have already lost some of their teeth but my daughter has not lost even one tooth yet.

At what age, do baby teeth usually fall out? Should they have not started to go by now? Do I need to take her to see a specialist or is it normal to be a bit late in losing teeth?

Thank you for your question.

It is very normal to have all baby teeth at the age of six and it is not unusual or abnormal. You do not need to worry about anything at this stage.

The first adult teeth that appear in the mouth are the first lower molar teeth that comes through at the back of the mouth just next to the last teeth in the bottom jaw. Then usually the bottom front teeth are lost.

But this happens are different times in different individuals. Because some other children have some of their adult teeth and yours still has not, it does not mean she is late with having her adult teeth. You do not need to do anything at this stage except keeping an eye on her.
