Hi
I have a gold crown on my back tooth that was placed on that tooth around 20 years ago. Recently it has come off a few times and my dentist has recommended replacing it with a white crown.
I know that white crowns look very good, but I have read that white crowns need more of the tooth to be removed than gold crowns and this is a concern to me, because I don't wish to lose any more tooth.
Do you think that I should have a white crown or insist on another gold crown? Are there any disadvantages to having a new gold crown rather than a white crown? I have to say that because its a back tooth, the colour of the crown has never bothered me and if the colour is the only problem with the gold crown, I would rather have another gold crown.
