    Wink Cosmetic crowns

    Hi

I had four porcelain crowns fitted on my lower front teeth about two weeks ago. Unfortunately they don't match the colour of my other teeth and I don't mean there is a small difference, there is actually a big difference in colour between the crowns and my other teeth.

Also the new crowns are bulkier than my normal teeth and stand out when I smile. I feel that my speech has changed and I really try not to show my new crowns when I smile. The crowns also look very square, whereas the rest of my teeth are not so square at the edges.

The other problem is that you can see a metal line around one of the crowns near where the porcelain crown meets my gums and this looks really bad. I am disappointed with the results, I really wanted to have cosmetic crowns that looked more like my natural teeth. I would like to know if I could have these crowns removed and cosmetic crowns placed to replace them?

Please tell me what you can do to make the new crowns look better than they are at the moment?

    Default Cosmetic crowns

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

It does happen from time to time that one may not be happy with the aesthetic result of some dental treatment and in your case the new crowns you have got. The good thing is that they are fixable and I am sure you will be able to receive crowns that you are happy with.

At Pearl Dental Clinic we take some measure to minimize the possibility of such problems developing and the way we achieve this is by involving the dental technicians that are going to be making your crowns in your (case). These people are heavily involved in making your restorations and the work done is between 3 people and not just 2, the patient, the dentist and dental technician. You will get to see these people and them to see you for assessment of facial and dental characteristics. Photographs will be taken and they discuss with you in person the type, shape, size and the colour of your restoration. You get a chance to directly telling them what you would like to get/see and if needed wax up models of your teeth will be done and discussed with you to ensure that the final restoration will be as close to what you would like to get.

We also use some of the most advanced type of ceramic crowns at very very reasonable prices that gives us the chance to produce some excellent cosmetic dentistry. We have been able to make a lot of our patients very happy with the treatment they have received and we have no reason to think that we would not be able to do same for you and we look forward to seeing you and do the best we can for you to achieve your full satisfaction.
