Default Teeth removed and replaced by dentures

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

There are, in general, 2 ways to treat your teeth. One is that first you come to see us and we take some impressions for making an immediate denture. So as soon as your teeth are extracted then we fit the immediate denture. Therefore the advantage this system has is that you are never without teeth. The disadvantage is that as initial impression is taken with your teeth present, then the technician has to do a lot of your denture work based on guessing. So the denture fit might not be good and denture being loose which will need further work to be done on it later.

The alternative is that to have the teeth extracted and then wait for the gum to heal for few weeks and then take the impressions for the denture. These dentures tend to fit better but disadvantage is that you will be without teeth for a while. Now which one do you prefer? Decision is yours!
