Tooth caps

I have two tooth caps which have been in my mouth for the past 20 years and up until recently they gave me no problems. Unfortunately recenly they became loose and the emergency dentist that I saw said that need to be replaced with new teeth caps.

He gave me the option of gold caps and porcelain caps and said that the gold one lasts longer. I would like to avoid gold caps if possible because I don't like the idea of the caps colour being gold. But at the same time the idea of the gold cap lasting longer is something that I like.

I would like to know if there are any tooth caps which look good and at the same last long as well. My current teeth caps have lasted well and they don't look too bad. Could I have the same type of cap again or are they obselete now?

If you don't wish to have a gold tooth cap, you have the option of going for metal ceramic crown, which has precious metal underneath and porcelain on top.

Else you could also go for a zirconium core porcelain crown such as Cercon, which also looks good and is still very strong. Both metal ceramic and Cercon crowns look very good and are pretty tough for areas where there is a lot of force placed on the tooth cap.
