    Post Dental bridge work

    Hello

I have a four tooth bridge at the front of my mouth that was made around five years ago and at the time, I was very happy with the dental bridge work. Recently I whitened my teeth and noticed that my dental bridge now looks darker than the rest of my top teeth.

I would like to know if my dental bridge work can be removed, made whiter in colour and replaced back into its place without a need for me to have a new bridge. If this is not possible, what are my options with regards to a new dental bridge? How long would I have to wait for a new teeth bridge to be made and would I be left without teeth at any point?

    Red face Dental bridge work

    Hi

Thank you for your post. Unfortunately in trying to remove a bridge, there is a risk that it will be damaged especially if it has been bonded with modern cements and so the option of removing the bridge undamaged and bonding it back on is not very likely.

Your options at this point are either waiting for the shade of the other teeth to fade as whitening results eventually fade and once again the bridge shade will begin to look similar to the rest of the teeth or having the bridge remade or having implants or a denture.

Please understand that if you whiten your teeth and have a new bridge made to match the new whitened shade, you will need to top-up the whitening on the other teeth otherwise their shade will darken eventually and then the bridge will look too light compared to the natural teeth.
