    Unhappy Bad Front teeth

    Hello

Because of many years of fearing the dentist, my front teeth have become very dark with decay and are loose and bleed when I brush them. I am ashamed to show my teeth when I smile. I really wish I could have a nice white smile like many of my friends.

I would like to know if you recommend that I have crowns or veneers to sort out my bad front teeth? I would like the treatment to be done under sedation because I cant face dentistry on my teeth.

    Red face Bad Front teeth

    Hi

Thank you for your post. It sounds like from what you are saying that you need to first see a dentist for a consultation. If you have decay or gum disease, these will have to be stabalised first before any cosmetic dentistry can be carried out.

If you have unstable, untreated gum disease, your teeth could simply become looser through gum disease and could end up drifting and your gum may receed and so there is no point placing veneers and crowns on such teeth before the gum disease has stabalised as the long term cosmetic and functional results will be poor.

If you have a high decay rate, there is possibility of tooth decay around the margins of your crowns and veneers, leading to sensitivity and even pain.

So you will need to first stabalise your gum problems and decay rate, before having any crowns or veneers on cosmetic grounds.
