Retainers

I have just had a mould taken for the trays for home whitening, can this same mould be used to make a retainer? Ive had my wisdom teeth out and im worried my teeth are starting to move, I would like a retainer to just keep them in that position.

I did have braces years ago, and used to wear the retainer at night, but they dont fit anymore because of the wisdom teeth that have been removed.

Thank you for your post. Whitening trays are made from a different plastic to retainers. Generally whitening trays are softer and so they cant act as a retainer. Orthodontic retainers are made from a thicker plastic and are more rigid.
