Stained teeth

I suffer from gum disease and I have been using corsodyl mouthwash to deal with a re-occuring gum abscess for the past six weeks.

Unfortunately recently I have noticed that my teeth have developed a brown stain on them. I have tried to remove the stains by brushing them hard but they are still there. I think the stains must have been caused by the mouthwash, because I did not have any brown stains before I used the mouthwash.

Can these brown stains be removed at a hygiene visit or do these stained teeth need laser teeth whitening to remove them?

Thank you for your post. Using Corsodyl mouthwash for six weeks will stain your teeth. The stains can be removed with a hygienist visit and you don't need laser teeth whitening to remove them.

If you have gum disease, you will need regular dentist/specialist deep cleaning as well as daily Tepe brush use to clean in between your teeth at home. Corsodyl mouthwash alone by itself will not be able to treat your gum disease and will cause your teeth to become stained.
