    Default Sore Mouth and Tongue

Every morning, when I first wake up, my mouth and tongue is sore. My teeth and gums in the back also feel sore. It is not pain just soreness. I think that maybe I'm grinding my teeth in my sleep, but am not sure. Do you have another explanation for why I am waking up with a sore mouth and tongue? How can I find out if I am grinding my teeth in my sleep?

You will need to ask your partner to see if he hears you grinding your teeth when you are sleeping. Otherwise you can have a nightguard fitted and review the appliance after a few months to see if any wear marks exist on the nightguard.
