    Default Paediatric Dentistry

At what age should I be taking my son to the dentist for regular checkups? My friends say that I should wait until he has shed all of his baby teeth. They seem to think that it would be a waste of money to go any sooner than that. My son is two years old and I think I should start the habit of good dental hygiene and health at an early age. I didn't go to the dentist at all when I was younger. I think if I did I wouldn't have so many problems with my teeth now since I would have learned how to properly take care of my teeth.

You should take your son along with yourself when you go for dental checkups and this way he can see you having checkups and find out that its not painful. Soon or later he will sit in the dental chair perhaps in your lap to start with. The sooner his teeth are checked the better, so that a preventative regime can be established.
