    Default New Dentures!

Hi. First of all I'm new to this

For the past 3 years I have been wearing top acrylic dentures. These dentures are in fact temporary dentures! For 6 years, previous to having my dentures, no dentist would touch me as I was addicted to 'Extra Strong Mints' I ended up finding a dentist to take me on and removed the only 3 teeth I had left on top. Due to not being worked on for so long I actually have completely lost the original shape of my gums and palette. To say the least, it's very upsetting. Anyway, my question is, the metal/cobalt chrome dentures, would they be suitable for me, although I have no teeth remaining? What would you suggest otherwise?

I'm just 34 by the way.

    Thank you for your post.

Cobalt Chrome dentures are not ideal as a complete denture case with no teeth to hold them in as they do not have a soft tissue seal as good as a plastic acrylic denture. So you may find that the cobalt chrome denture could be loose especially in function. Alternatively you could go for a acrylic denture held in with mini implants. Mini implants dont cost the earth and are less likely to need bone grafting compared to regular implants. A full acrylic denture if held in with mini implants will not need to be as border extended either.
