Default Sensitive/tingling sensation in lower teeth

Hello. A few weeks ago I had gum treatment on all 4 quadrants at Pearl Dental Clinic (attended by Dr Mohsen). A few days prior to my first appointment my front lower tooth (of the left quadrant) was 'tingling' if touched. No pain was felt on the tooth.

After the gum treatment was complete the tingling sensation pretty much subsided. However a few days ago I am now getting the tingling/sensation which extends from the middle tooth to about 5 teeth in the left lower quadrant. It is not an ache, however the intensity of the sensation seems to increase during the night. I dont think any abscess were present in my xray taken at the clinic but is it possible that I may have some sort of infection in the lower front quadrant? Please could you advise me on this issue.

    With regards,

    Faisal.

    Hi Faisal

Thank you for your post. After deep gum treatment it is possible to get gum recession and tooth sensitivity if the roots of teeth are exposed. This usually eventually settles down, however if it persists then please come back to see me so that I can re-assess it to see if there is anything that we can do to reduce the sensitivity. In the meantime you can apply sensodyne toothpaste topically to the sensitive teeth and leave it on overnight for 2-3 weeks to see if that reduces the tooth sensitivity.

Thank you for your reply Dr Mohsen. I avoided hard foods for a few days and the sensitivity decreased quite a bit where I didnt feel anything. A few days ago the teeth have started feeling sensitive again, so I will try some sensodyne toothpaste.
