Hi,
I seem to post a lot on this site!
I saw my dentist last week about two of my bottom teeth (pre molars either side), where the enamel has chipped away by the gumline and discoloured a little, so he put two fillings in the affected areas, but did not drill away the discoloured areas.
However, I got home and ran my finger across the teeth. My fingernail poked into the gap between the filling (which goes right to the edge up to the gumline) and my gums. The filling is probably a millimetre higher than the cementum underneath, and finishes right at the gums, so I'm worried any bacteria will get lodged here.
Is there a way to make a gumline filling smooth while still producing a cosmetic effect? The filling needs to go right the way up to the gumline. I'm worried about having worse problems, I am thinking about moving from my NHS dentist to a cosmetic dentist...
Thanks![]()
