Question Dull ache in tooth after shallow filling

There was a cavity in my tooth which did not hurt but was very cleary visible, so I went to the dentist about it and he said that there was nothing wrong with that tooth but I needed fillings in four different teeth. That matter sorted (four fillings in the molars : 2 in the upper jaw and 2 in the lower jaw). Then two years later I wanted to casually get my teeth checked so I visited the dentist. He said they just needed a little bit of filling and pointed to the same tooth (premolar on the left side of the lower jaw) for which I had gone to the dentist 2 years back and tld me that I needed a filling there, 'a very shallow cavity' he had said. It had still not been hurting but I got the filling. After around two weeks now I have a dull ache around that tooth. Do tell me if I should go to the dentist again or if this pain is normal and will subside within a few days ? Its not a regular ache .

    Thank you for your post.

Some sensitivity is to be expected after a deep filling but it normally settles down. Now I dont know if the filling was deep or not. If the pain persists then you need to go back to see the dentist who placed the filling to review the tooth. Occasionally after deep fillings, sensitivity persists and even turns into pain and in those situations we sometimes have to do root canal treatment.
