Losing teeth

Hi, I wonder if you can help,

I have recently signed up with an NHS dentist, who on first inspection of my teeth told me that they were in porr condition and advised me to make an appointment with Guy's hospital. I had 2 appointments with guys were they told me i suffered from gum desease and they removed a lower back tooth.

My dentist on my last check up told me he couldn't do anything other than remove more teeth, and I am really conscious about the way my smile will end up looking like if I carry on letting him remove my teeth.

I work in an industrie where you have to look presentable and i would really appreciate some advice. I do not have a lot of money to spend but would be interested in a payment plan to restore my teeth.

If you suffer from gum disease, unless the gum disease is treated and brought under control, chances are that you will lose more teeth in future.

So my approach would be to see a gum specialist and have your gums treated and try to save as many teeth as possible with non-surgical and surgical gum therapy.

With advanced gum disease, you may find that some teeth have to be removed because they have lost a lot of bone but at least an attempt should be made to save as many teeth as possible.

Replacing lost teeth that have been lost through gum disease with a decent replacement can be time consuming and expensive.
