Thumbs down Pain after crown preparation

    Hello

I had my molar tooth prepared for a crown last week and my dentist fitted a temporary crown on the tooth and I am supposed to go back in 1 week to have the final white crown fitted it. My tooth has been very sensitive for the past few days and I am worried that it might get worst. Is this normal with temporary crowns or has something gone wrong with this tooth? Is there anything that I can do to reduce the tooth sensitivity?

    Thank you for your question.

Sensitivity with a temporary crown can happen if it leaks or does not fully cover all of the tooth preparation. The permanent dental crown usually fits far better than the temporary crown. Make sure you mention the sensitivity to your dentist before he cements the final crown.
