Can my long teeth be made shorter?

Hi

My top front teeth are very long and stand out in photos and I am always conscious of them and trying to hide them. I was thinking that maybe veneers could make them shorter but was not sure which type of veneer would be best for my situation. A friend also suggested that maybe they could just be shaved down and left without any veneers. Is that possible? I would need the six front teeth done because they stand out the most. Any ideas?

Small amounts of enamel reductions can be made to a tooth without having to cover the area reduced. However if you are thinking of reducing the tooth into dentine, this area will then need to be covered with composite bonding or porcelain veneers to prevent tooth sensitivity.
