    Arrow Denture relining

    Hello

I have a loose denture which keeps coming out every time I try to eat with it in my mouth. It used to be a bit more firm but as my gums have shrunk back the denture has gradually become looser and looser.

My dentist says that I don't have enough bone to keep the denture in my mouth more firmly and has recommended that I have four implants and a denture on top.

Whilst reading your site, I realized there is also an option of relining my denture which is apparently a lot cheaper than getting a new denture or implants. How does relining a denture work and how long does it take for it to be done?

    Thank you for your help.

    Red face Denture relining

    Thank you for your question.

A denture reline can be done chairside or at the lab, although I tend to send my denture relines to the lab and this usually takes a few days to be completed. A denture reline may not necessarily improve the retention on your denture and if your dentist recommends implants, maybe you should consider dental implants if the reline does not work.
