    Cool Denture repair

    Hi

I have a plastic denture for the past 5 years which I’m very happy with. Unfortunately yesterday it broke while eating. Now I can’t wear it so I’m having difficulty eating in public.

Looking at the denture, it looks as though one part of it has separated from the back plastic part and left a sharp edge on the denture which cuts into my tongue.

Will I be able to have my broken denture repaired and how, or must I have a new denture made? What costs am I looking at? How long does denture repair usually take?

    Default Denture repair

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

Whether your denture will be repairable needs to be assessed clinically. If possible to repair it will take between 24-48 hours to do. Sometimes it may be just enough to smoothen the sharp edge and you would be able to use it without any problem and if so this will be done straight away in the practice. Also if a minor repair is needed it can be done straight away while you wait!

If a new denture is needed then we can start the process and cost wise, for reasonably good acrylic denture we are talking about £500. But you always have a choice for cheaper or ore expensive option that will be explained to you once you come to see us.
