Arrow Teenage daughter’s adult tooth fell out

    Hi,

My teenage daughters adult tooth fell out while playing sports last week. We saw an emergency dentist who put it back in, and stuck it to the teeth next door with a wire.

We were told that the tooth did not fracture, and was relatively intact. We were also told to see a dentist in a week to take the tooth wire off and review it.

What I want to know is what problems is the tooth likely to have. It’s a front tooth so obviously very upsetting if she ends up having any problems with that tooth.

Default Teenage daughter’s adult tooth fell out

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

The treatment you have been having is spot on. The problem that very likely will develop with your tooth is that the tooth will loose its vitality. In other words its nerve is necrotic and if so the tooth will need root canal treatment. Hence the regular need for reviews to see if the tooth will loose its vitality.
