    Red face Broken wisdom tooth

    Hello

Whilst I was eating a sweet today, my lower right wisdom tooth just broke in half and a severe pain started from the tooth and I have taken two painkillers since the tooth broke but I am still in pain, especially when I try to chew on that tooth.

What can be done for this tooth? Are broken wisdom teeth usually removed or can they filled? Is there anything that can be done today? If the wisdom tooth needs to be removed, can your emergency dentists remove it today?

    Default Broken wisdom tooth

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

It appears that the cause of you tooth fracture is decay in the tooth. The treatment for broken wisdom tooth depends to the extend of decay. If there is extensive defect and decay down to the pulp of the tooth, then it may need extraction and our emergency dentist can remove it for you. If the extend of the decay is not very deep and does not extend to the pulp or nerve house of the tooth then you may be able to save it by restoring it. But what you say in your question it seems you need extraction of it and we would be happy to assist you on it.
