Post I have bitten my lip, what should I do?

    Hello

I was fitted a new denture last week and I have found it very uncomfortable and difficult to wear. This morning, I tried in the dentures and accidentally bit my lip and almost immediately my lip began to bleed pretty severely.

I put tissues over my lip and eventually after a while, the bleeding stopped but now the lip has swollen up and looks and feels much bigger than before. Is there anything that I can do with my lip to bring this swelling down?

Do I need to see a dentist about this denture or do you think that this was a one off and just an accident?

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

It is unusual for some one to cut their lip when putting their denture in. It is the first time I hear of it. So there may be a problem with your denture and it is not a bad idea to see a dentist to check this for.
With you lip you must just wait until the inflammation subside but if there is severe bleeding that does not stop easily and quickly, then again you will benefit from seeing a dentist.
