    Smile Loose Crown

    Hi

I noticed this morning that one of my crowns was loose. The crown has not come out but it is loose. I am seeing my own dentist next month for a checkup. Could there be any problems if I leave the crown as it is till then as its not causing me any pain?

    Cool loose Crown

A Loose Crown allows bacteria to go underneath the crown and attack the tooth underneath. You will be unable to clean underneath there with your brush and so the bacteria could rapidly damage the tooth.

Also A Loose tooth crown can sometimes dislodge and be swallowed or inhaled which can cause dangerous airway problems.

My advise would be to see your dentist immediately so that he can remove the crown, clean underneath it and re-cement it, if its fit for purpose. If the crown is not well fitting, it may need to be replaced with a new crown.
