    Unhappy Wisdom tooth toothache

I have had fairly severe toothache in the back of my jaw on the right hand bottom side, in the area i suspect my wisdom tooth to be coming through, i am a 25 year old male and i have all my other 3 wisdom teeth through painlessly.

This however seems to have inflammed the gum, caused a lot of ulcers and there is still no sign of a tooth, i have been treating with pain killers for the last week.

I would like to know if this is something normal to expect and to grin and bear or is it worth gettin looked at for a possible treatment/ extraction.

    Thank you

    Default Wisdom tooth toothache

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

I think you have been a bit unlucky with your last wisdom tooth and toothache. Usually there is pain and discomfort with impacted or partially erupted wisdom teeth. If the symptoms is not severe and does not happen that often then may be you leave it alone. BUt if problems with an impacted tooth that keeps hapening and has the risk of damaging the other teeth then one may consider extraction. The best way is for you to come and have your tooth assessed clinically and then make a decision.
