    Unhappy Dentistry drugs

    Hi

I have been in pain from my lower wisdom tooth for the past four days. I am unable to open my mouth very wide because it hurts and I have noticed that there is swelling of my face around that area.

I have tried taking neurofen and my gp has also given me amoxicilin but my face swelling is still there and the pain is actually worst now than four days ago and so bad that I cant sleep tonight.

I would try anything right now to get this tooth removed but I don't think I can have it removed until the infection has gone. What other drugs are there in dentistry that could help me? Am I on the right antibiotic or should I be on a different antibiotic?

I'm having the same problem. I tried to go to sleep at 11pm, it's now 4am and I still can't sleep. I have an intense pain in both the top and bottom back teeth but am at the overdose limit on painkillers and have consumed an entire tube of Bonjela in one day.

Someone at work said it could be wisdom teeth but I think the pain is too hardcore for that. Tomorrow I'm going to try and get an emergency appointment because it is unbearable.

    Question Dentistry drugs

    Thank you for your post.

Without seeing you its difficult to say if you are on the right drugs or not. We do have other antibiotics and painkillers in dentistry but they all have specific uses and we need to assess your case clinically before we can pescribe medication.

Please call 0208 547 9997 to book an emergency appointment 24 hours a day.
